Course Description:

MAT 1033: Intermediate Algebra, 3 lecture hours, and 3 credit hours.

Prerequisite:Math placement test or minimum grade of “C” in MAT 0024.  MAT 1033 receives college credit, but only elective credit, and cannot be used to satisfy the math requirements for the Associates in Arts Degree.

Topics included are factoring, algebraic fractions, radicals and rational exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, rational equations, linear equations and inequalities in two variables and their graphs, systems of linear equations and inequalities, introduction to functions, and applications of the above topics.
