Math Division Meeting

10:00 AM Math Division Conference Room

  1. Approval of Minutes
    • Angelia Reynolds approved, Deanna Petersen seconded
  2. Allison Riggle
    • Allison Riggle handed out a Student Support Services (SSS) survey and a brochure which detailed services offered by her department
    • Allison and the division discussed SSS entry requirements and retention rates
  3. Cheryl Flax-Hyman met with the division
    • discussed possible alternate methods of course/degree delivery
    • discussed observing dual enroll instructors in the high-schools
  4. Gerry Wilson reported on the Academic Council meetings from Monday and Wednesday
  5. Gerry Wilson passed around handouts from PLT concerning
    • Appropriation reductions
    • A tentative timeline for strategic 5 year planning
  6. Deanna Petersen and Patrice Adams presented several possible calendar configurations for the division to discuss (original, option 2, option 3)
    • Leo Lusk moved that the division vote for option 3
      • the motion carried
  7. Gerry Wilson reminded the division that we are trying for 100% FACC enrollment
  8. Gerry Wilson discussed new steps needed to be taken in order to have a student reinstated into a class after they have been withdrawn in e-roster
  9. Reports from committees
    • Sharon Hudson announced that she is a member of the 'Academic Rigor' subcommittee of the e-learning committee
    • Lloyd Harris discussed the VP search
      • ads will be going out shortly
      • interview questions will be written
      • the interview process was described
