Math Division Meeting

- Approval of Minutes
- Dean Burbank approved, Deanna Petersen seconded
- Kim Krutchek presented a new type of monitor (The Interwrite Workspace) that acts as a writing/drawing pad
- Items from Faculty Council (Terri Bedford) - Terri presented several weekly schedule options to the division
- After a discussion, Dean Burbank moved to keep the schedule the way it is
- Norris Harvey seconded, the division voted unanimously to keep the schedule the way it is now
- Program Review items revisited
- The division should review those programs that are primarily mathematics in nature (Math/Math Education) and the mathematics courses related to these programs
- Mini-mester survey questions reviewed
- Melissa Lavender is working on a student questionnaire regarding the minimester courses and has asked the division for their ideas/opinions concerning the questions
- Gerry Wilson showed the division a 'class reaction' survey which is given to students more frequently in order to gauge how a class is going
- Leo Lusk suggested using an internet message board to get student's candid opinions of the class
- Michael Brinegar presented his committee's choice for a new Pre-Algebra book to the division for adoption
- the division voted unanimously to support the committee's choice

- There is an 'at large' position on the council open

- Lunch with Natural Sciences will be Monday between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM
