Math Division Meeting

10:00 AM Math Division Conference Room SUW 270

  1. Approval of minutes
    • Dean Burbank Approved, Angelia Reynolds seconded
  2. Gerry Wilson asked the division to begin considering it's strategic plan in relation to the proposed layout determined by last week's PLT meeting.
    • The results of the retreat were given to the division via PowerPoint
    • The division needs to be thinking about our division strategic plan this spring before summer break
      • Consider the four proposed areas
      • Be prepared to talk about ideas for our plan by April 4th when we meet again.
  3. Gerry Wilson passed around a 'Youth in Action' mentoring brochure from from the March 4 th PLT meeting
  4. Dean Burbank reported on the UWF articulation and gave the division a handout about SLOs
  5. Rhonda Barker spoke to the division about the Assessment Steering Committee
    • Lloyd Harris will represent the division on the committee
  6. The division discussed the use of Power Point as a teaching aid
    • the division decided to add a recommendation to the division policies
  7. The division discussed whether to do away with 'review days' in the daily schedules for it's courses
    • Lloyd Harris requested to be allowed to remove review days from one of his upcoming sections, the division agreed
  8. Gerry Wilson reminded the division that it needs to be making decisions about student awards
  9. Deanna Petersen will make a Tri-College report to the division via email
  10. 10:55 meeting adjourned
